- Le Renard is a French privateer ship of the cutter category from the early 19th century, a symbol of the strong French identity. It was dedicated to attacking and capturing the enemy trading ships of France, with the privateer Robert Surcouf in command. Its greatest feat was defeating the English schooner HMS Alphea in combat, turning the city of Saint Malo into a refuge for the families of the corsairs of the world.
