The PaK 97/38 was a German anti-tank gun employed during World War II. It was developed using the barrel of the famous French 75mm Mle 1897 cannon. Many specimens were captured after the invasion of France and proved to be a viable, quick and relatively economical solution to equip German anti-tank troops with a more powerful weapon than the now outdated 37mm Pak 36 no longer capable of drilling the armor of the more modern and robust Soviet tanks, such as the KV-1 and T-34. He could employ a decent variety of ammunition and also equipped numerous anti-tank departments from other Axis countries allied to Germany.
