Product description The Hobbit is a much loved book by the famous author J.R.R. Tolkien. Mithril Miniatures has been officially licensed by Middle-earth Enterprises to manufacture collectible metal miniatures from that source (and the LOTR books). Each miniature is sculpted by Chris Tubb, Mithril Miniatures sculptor since 1988, our founding. They are all 32mm scale, which refers to the average height from top of head to toe if a human is standing upright. Naturally different races will vary in actual height when compared to humans. Hobbits and Dwarves are significantly shorter than humans. This box set contains Gandalf the Wizard, Beorn the skin-changer, Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, The Great Goblin, Gollum, Elrond, The Elvenking and The Master of Laketown. The figurines are designed to be as realistic as possible and we use Tolkien's texts for all references to their clothes, weapons or appearance. No references from the films are used. This box set packaging was originally used for an earlier MB236 box set of the same name (now discontinued), but all the new miniatures are redesigned and Bard was changed to the Master of Laketown. However we reused the box cover and so crossed out any reference to MB236 to avoid confusion. This is simply for environmental and economic reasons. Product No. was changed from MB687 to MB685.
